SO/C.Music
Terms and Conditions
Effective and last updated: August 20, 2026
These Terms and Conditions govern your use of socmusic.ca and, where applicable, your interactions with SO/C.Music in connection with event information, ticket links, registrations, submissions, partnerships, promotions and other services made available through this website. By using the website, you agree to these Terms. Nothing in these Terms limits any right or remedy that cannot legally be waived under applicable consumer protection or other law.
1. About SO/C.Music
SO/C.Music is an Edmonton, Alberta-based music, events and culture brand. References to “SO/C.Music,” “SO/C,” “we,” “us” or “our” in these Terms refer to the operator of socmusic.ca and the applicable SO/C.Music event or service.
2. Website Use
You may use this website for lawful personal or business purposes connected with learning about SO/C.Music, its events, artists, programs, opportunities and services. You must not misuse the website, interfere with its operation or security, attempt unauthorized access, introduce malicious code, scrape or harvest information in a manner that violates law or the rights of others, impersonate another person, or use the website to submit unlawful, fraudulent, abusive or misleading material.
3. Event Information and Admission
Event dates, times, venues, lineups, programming, capacity, accessibility details and admission conditions may change when reasonably necessary. Material changes will be communicated through the event listing or other appropriate channels where practicable.
Admission remains subject to the rules of the applicable venue, ticket terms disclosed at purchase, legal age or identification requirements stated for the event, capacity and applicable law. A ticket does not authorize conduct that is unsafe, unlawful, disruptive or contrary to a published event or venue code of conduct. SO/C.Music and participating venues may refuse or end admission where permitted by law and reasonably necessary for safety, security or compliance with event rules.
4. Tickets, Prices and Payment
Ticket prices, currency, applicable taxes and any mandatory charges will be disclosed through the applicable event listing or checkout. SO/C.Music does not intend an advertised price to conceal mandatory non-government charges. Where a third-party ticketing provider processes a transaction, that provider may also apply its own terms, privacy practices and payment processes.
Before completing a purchase, review the event description, date, venue, ticket type, total amount payable and any event-specific restrictions. If information displayed by SO/C.Music conflicts with the final checkout terms, contact us before purchasing.
5. Refunds, Cancellations and Postponements
Event-specific refund, cancellation or exchange terms will be disclosed on the applicable ticket or event page where relevant. Unless otherwise stated, ticket purchases may be final once completed, subject always to rights and remedies available under applicable law.
If SO/C.Music cancels an event for which it directly controls ticket refunds, purchasers will receive the remedy described in the applicable event notice and required by law. If an event is postponed, relocated or materially changed, SO/C.Music will provide updated information and any available options as circumstances permit. For tickets processed by a third-party platform or venue, refunds may need to be administered through that provider.
6. Promotions, Discounts and Promotional Codes
Promotional codes, complimentary tickets, discounts and special offers may have stated eligibility requirements, quantities, expiry dates or event-specific conditions. They have no cash value unless expressly stated and may not be combined unless permitted. SO/C.Music will not knowingly advertise a discount, scarcity claim or price comparison in a materially false or misleading manner.
7. Communications and Marketing
Where you choose to subscribe to marketing communications, SO/C.Music will manage commercial electronic messages in accordance with applicable Canadian anti-spam requirements. Consent may be express or, where legally permitted, implied by an existing relationship. Marketing messages will identify the sender and provide an unsubscribe mechanism where required. Unsubscribing from marketing does not prevent transactional or service communications that are necessary to administer a purchase, registration or request.
8. Privacy and Personal Information
Our collection, use, disclosure and protection of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy and applicable privacy law, including Alberta’s private-sector privacy requirements where they apply. By using forms, ticket links or other services, you acknowledge that information may also be processed by identified service providers under their own terms and privacy policies.
9. User Submissions
If you voluntarily submit an artist application, event submission, partnership inquiry, media, testimonial, feedback or other material, you confirm that you have the right to provide it and that doing so does not infringe another person’s rights. You retain ownership of your original material. Unless a separate agreement says otherwise, you grant SO/C.Music a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to review, store and use the submission as reasonably necessary to respond to your request, evaluate the opportunity or provide the service for which it was submitted.
SO/C.Music will not treat unsolicited creative ideas as confidential unless confidentiality has been agreed to in writing beforehand.
10. Intellectual Property
The SO/C.Music name, branding, logos, original graphics, website design, written content, event concepts and other original materials on this website are owned by or licensed to SO/C.Music and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. You may view and share links to public pages for personal, editorial or legitimate promotional purposes. You may not reproduce, sell, alter, remove attribution from, or commercially exploit protected SO/C.Music material without permission, except where permitted by law.
Artist names, photographs, music, venue marks and third-party logos remain the property of their respective owners and are used under applicable permission, licence or other lawful basis.
11. Third-Party Services and Links
The website may link to ticketing platforms, social networks, venues, payment processors, analytics providers and other third-party services. Those services are independently operated. SO/C.Music is not responsible for third-party websites, availability, security, content or policies, although we aim to use reputable providers. Review the terms and privacy information of a third-party service before using it.
12. Website Availability and Accuracy
We work to keep information accurate and the website available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. Content may be corrected or updated when errors, technical problems or changed circumstances are identified. Nothing in this section permits SO/C.Music to avoid obligations created by a completed consumer contract or applicable law.
13. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the website and general informational content are provided on an “as available” basis. SO/C.Music is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss arising solely from use of, or inability to access, the website where such liability may lawfully be excluded.
These limitations do not apply to liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, and they do not limit statutory consumer rights. Event-related liability, venue responsibility and third-party responsibility will depend on the circumstances and applicable law.
14. Indemnity for Misuse
To the extent permitted by law, you are responsible for losses, claims or reasonable costs arising from your unlawful misuse of the website, your infringement of another person’s rights, or material you submit without the necessary rights or authority. This section does not require a consumer to indemnify SO/C.Music for SO/C.Music’s own negligence, unlawful conduct or obligations that cannot legally be transferred.
15. Accessibility
SO/C.Music aims to provide clear digital information and to communicate material event accessibility information when available. Accessibility needs can vary by venue. Contact us before an event if you need clarification about a specific venue or event arrangement.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the website, services, business practices or law. The current version will be posted here with its effective date. Changes will apply prospectively and will not retroactively remove rights already created under a completed transaction.
17. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Alberta and the applicable federal laws of Canada. Subject to any mandatory rights or jurisdiction available under consumer protection or other applicable law, disputes relating to these Terms or the website may be brought before the courts of competent jurisdiction in Alberta. These Terms do not require consumers to waive rights to bring a dispute before a court where such a waiver is prohibited by law.
18. Severability and Entire Terms
If a provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent legally permitted. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any event-specific or transaction-specific terms presented at purchase, form the applicable agreement concerning use of this website and those services. Event-specific terms control only to the extent they are lawful and specifically applicable to that transaction.
19. Contact
Questions about these Terms, a transaction or an event may be sent to soundofcultureyeg@gmail.com.
These Terms are intended as a practical website and consumer-facing framework for SO/C.Music. They should be reviewed periodically and when SO/C.Music materially changes its ticketing, membership, e-commerce, data, venue or contracting practices.
